Top: Purple Cow / Romper: Peter Pilotto x Target / Shoes: Thrifted / Bowtie: Purple Cow

I've decided my blog pictures have evolved into repetitive poses, positions, and backgrounds, which is totally not rad, right? In this instance, I chose to Photoshop myself into random backgrounds that I thought were quite charming. I don't believe blog pictures should be about how good you look or what your background looks like, but instead focus on the clothing and outfit that you've created. Most of my pictures are taken with a tripod in my backyard or against the wall in my garage, which I'm totally okay with for now. I want my audience to focus more on my ensemble and less on my bitch face.

This romper was a part of the Peter Pilotto collection for Target. Let me be explicitly honest and let you know that I did not know this designer before I learned of the Target collaboration. I find it extremely pretentious and silly when people buy designer items just to let everyone know they have the money to do so or that they think they are trendy. Of course I did not want to fall into this category, so I did my research before the collection was released to make sure I actually supported their designs and aesthetics. Obviously, I did. The prints were so mesmerizing and chaotic, yet organized and simple at the same time. I also bought a swim top that is slightly wet-suit inspired, which is totally acceptable in my case since I don't tan (Snow White over here..).

I also want to change the direction of this blog. I've had the mindset that this blog is strictly for fashion and nothing else. This boxed me in and limited my creativity. I've decided to update once daily during the week, but not on weekends. Each day will contain a certain topic of my choosing. Here is my outline so far:

1. Monday: Playlist for the Week
2. Tuesday: Outfit Post
3. Wednesday: YouTube video (if ready) or Blogger Spotlight
4. Thursday: Outfit Post
5. Friday: Inspiration/ Mantra for the Weekend

I've recently enjoyed filming videos and I am starting to update my YouTube more regularly. I want to incorporate worldly matters that are occurring, so there may be a post featuring that during the week as well. This isn't a strict plan that I HAVE to follow, so if I sometimes want to post something else I will. This is purely to aid me in channeling my creativity and sharing it with you lovely people.

Thank you all for staying with me for this long and I hope you continue to for as long as this blog persists!

Top: XXI / Velvet Shirt: Thrifted / Shorts: Thrifted / Shoes: GoJane

And the above pictures serve as an example as to why I should not be left alone with my tripod and camera for more than 5 minutes. I got bored okay...

This was one of the days where it was absolutely freezing outside. The wind was howling, and I was freezing my butt off, so inside pictures were in order.

I adore these heels, but they are probably the hardest to walk in. I've worn them in public once and I did okay, I just felt like a fumbling mess.

Once again I love these shorts. I wore them once with the bottoms rolled up, but this is my favorite way to wear them. I love the boyish silhouette of the shorts mixed with the sassiness of the heels.

And I urge you to listen to Lady Gaga's new album because it is simply astounding. Just recently I've been in this early stage of feminism. I'm learning more about the topic itself and molding my ideals to fit it, which is a good thing for me. Once I heard this album, it was like a hit to the head. I honestly don't know what her goal was with this album, but for me it's all about women empowerment. Most of the songs have a sexual quality about them, and I think that's a good thing. I don't think women should be defined by how sexual they are, and I love that she condemns slut-shaming. A woman can sleep with whoever and however many people she wants, and people should accept that because it doesn't pertain to anyone but her and her partner. It's just a really good album for me and all of the songs are fun, so go listen podnuhs (my dad calls me that).

The Love Club ☼♫☼

Bustier: Mom's / Flannel: Goodwill / Skirt: Thrift Store / Shoes: GoJane

I feel like there's a ton going on in this outfit, but I love it. First off, the shoes. As soon as I saw them on GoJane, I knew I was buying them. It was a tough call between the black and silver, but I'll probably wear black more. I may have to just buy the silver ones too... I feel like a sassy gladiator no lie. Like I could totally kick your butt, but I'll look fine as hell doing it, ya kno?

I love this vintage bustier that my mom had. She used to wear it a lot and gave it to me randomly one day, total score.

I also just bought these shorts and I'm kinda sorta weeping inside rn:

The Lost Housewife

Top & Skirt: Thrifted / Shoes: Irregular Choice

I felt like a housewife after going through these pictures. I also sorta look like I want to murder someone, which is interesting. It was raining outside that day, so we decided to move the party into our foyer/dinning room. I like how it came out though, our dinning room is pretty sassy. Sadly, we never use it since it's just there for show. What a tragedy..

Lately I've been trying to center my outfits on one key piece that stands out- in this case, the shoes. The look on my mom's face when I came down the stairs ready for church was priceless. She was horrified that I was wearing a purple top and bright blue shoes, it just didn't make sense to her. To me, it did. "Gosh mom, don't you see that the two colors compliment each other, plus with the brown skirt it neutralizes it. Duhhhhh." She looked at me like I was crazy (which I most likely am...)

Most of my outfits are also made up of thrifted clothes, simply because that's what I like. There aren't many stores around Baton Rouge that cater to what I like, so instead I thrift. Done and done.

I've also thought of something new. At the end of every post I will put a picture (most likely from Tumblr) that inspired me that week/day. So here's the one for today:

Can we talk ab major rad-ness going on EVERYWHERE???

Everything Thrifted, Dress {American Apparel}

So this would be considered my classy Sunday look. I normally don't look this girly, but I kinda dig it. When I first saw this American Apparel Dress, I thought it was part of a dance costume due to the fabric, but of course I tried it on anyway. The color is beautiful and perfect for summer. Coincidentally, Miranda, from Let's Get Flashy wore this dress in one of her recent posts. Of course it looked fab on her- go check it out!

I finally put a video together of one of Claud & I's adventures that we took a long time ago:

ALSO:
I just bid on these AH-mAZING shoes on eBay, and it was quite a scary experience waiting until the last 10 seconds. BUT I WON. And I will never take them off once I get them:

Meeting People Sucks

Claudia:
Top, Shorts - XXI

MaKenzie:
Top- Thrifted / Bottoms: XXI / Shoes: Heels.com / Glasses Frames: Etsy

Okay, the first thing you've probably noticed is that neither of us is in the same background or an even remotely close area. I took these pics of Claudia yesterday since we can't always be together to take pics. So she just did a wardrobe change and tadaaaaa, another outfit was born. Her Jurassic Park shirt completes me.

My sister took these pics of me today after church, and the wind was just going CRAY. Literally hair kept flying in my mouth..not cute. BUT, let's just talk about these shoes. I am completely obsessed with them. I got them for my ring ceremony, which was Friday night. They are so amazing and the flowers on the bottom are so cute. And I know I will be walkin around all summer in them, so just be ready.

I also just got some new glasses frames that I posted yesterday, but here they are again. I don't wear my glasses all the time, but sometimes I just feel like wearing them. The frames are from an amazing Etsy shop that I linked up top. She has the coolest ones and they are really cheap too!

Claudia also got some rad bracelets from Honduras for me. They are sort of like our friendship bracelets. One of them is purple and the other is a blue and green beaded one. We always used to buy the same bracelets and say "Oh, friendship bracelet, hollah!" But, we would always loose them or they would break. SO, this shall be the new bracelet and we will see how long that lasts....

Have a sunnnny Sunday.
