Icee Kween

Above by Mary Claire

Above by Camille

Top: Oasap / Shorts: Miracle Eye / Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

I had a nice day out with a couple of friends the other day for some shooting that they had in mind. First we were doing almost a Rebel Schoolgirl look, hence the pigtails. I'll definitely share those pictures sometime soon, don't worry! But after I brought a change of clothes and they took a couple shots of me for fun. They are both immensely talented and I had so much fun with them. Definitely go check both out!

I love how all of these turned out, and the Icee just adds to the look right? I guess I'll start using food as props...

Jumpsuit: Thrifted / Belt: Moschino (via eBay) / Shoes: Demonia / Glasses: MakeMeChic

Chunky. Gaudy. Flashy.
Those are the words that come to my mind when I think of this belt. It's meant to be a statement piece, but I have conflicting views on it. I think a vast majority of people today are caught up in the designer and expensive realm of fashion. All of the bloggers who feature top brands on their blogs are basically advertisements for that brand, which isn't what blogging and personal style should embody. Don't get me wrong, I would love to sport some McQueen or Givenchy on my everyday shopping trips, but I wouldn't do it at the expense of my personal style.

Now you're probably wondering, 'Well why is she wearing that belt if she doesn't want to be an 'advertisement'?". And my answer is simple. Because I like it. I like walking around and people asking me how to pronounce it (hence the title, I giggle when I say it like that). I like flaunting it almost like a heavy-weight champion belt. I. Like. It. And to me, that is what fashion should be about. Not what brand is the most progressive and what designers celebrities sport the most. It's about you. How YOU want to style something, what you think is unique or cool, and how you embody your own style. So if you want to wear what everyone else is wearing because you like it, DO IT, but only because it's what you want. And if you like designer brands, wear them, but only because YOU want to.

Enigma

Top&Pants: Thrifted / Shoes: Demonia via eBay

I find it quite strange that we are on the verge of summertime and yet I still cocoon myself in dark, morbid color palettes. The dark colors have always been my comfort zone and I don't think I'm quite ready to give that up yet for summer.

I sincerely apologize once again for my lack of blogging, but I had valid reason! This past week was my last week of exams, as well as my graduation! So trust me, everything leading up to graduation was seemingly stressful, but also very fun filled. I'm so excited to move onto adulthood and make a handful of mistakes, but do so knowing that everything will work out. I'm ready to experience all that life has to offer me and do so with the people I love (including you guys!).

Icarus

Best for last:

Denim Top: Thrifted / Pants: Thrifted / Blazer: Mom's / Boots: Demonia / Hat: Thrifted

This is one of those outfits that is mostly thrifted, but doesn't scream it at all. I got these pants for 3 dollars. Now I know, I live in Louisiana. It's always hot. Why did I get leather pants? Because they were 3 DOLLARS. The title is slightly ironic because Icarus got too close to the sun, and I'm pretty sure by the end of the day my legs were almost roasted. I thought it was going to remain cold, that was my mistake in assuming Louisiana weather would be normal for once.

I've been secretly stealing most of my mom's jackets/blazers because they add a touch of sophistication to my outfits that I enjoy. And also they keep me warm..

I wore this to go see a local designer's collection at our museum. I will do a whole post on him, because I was fangirling and taking way too many pictures, thus annoying one of the workers.

Aura

Top: XXI / Velvet Shirt: Thrifted / Shorts: Thrifted / Shoes: GoJane

And the above pictures serve as an example as to why I should not be left alone with my tripod and camera for more than 5 minutes. I got bored okay...

This was one of the days where it was absolutely freezing outside. The wind was howling, and I was freezing my butt off, so inside pictures were in order.

I adore these heels, but they are probably the hardest to walk in. I've worn them in public once and I did okay, I just felt like a fumbling mess.

Once again I love these shorts. I wore them once with the bottoms rolled up, but this is my favorite way to wear them. I love the boyish silhouette of the shorts mixed with the sassiness of the heels.

And I urge you to listen to Lady Gaga's new album because it is simply astounding. Just recently I've been in this early stage of feminism. I'm learning more about the topic itself and molding my ideals to fit it, which is a good thing for me. Once I heard this album, it was like a hit to the head. I honestly don't know what her goal was with this album, but for me it's all about women empowerment. Most of the songs have a sexual quality about them, and I think that's a good thing. I don't think women should be defined by how sexual they are, and I love that she condemns slut-shaming. A woman can sleep with whoever and however many people she wants, and people should accept that because it doesn't pertain to anyone but her and her partner. It's just a really good album for me and all of the songs are fun, so go listen podnuhs (my dad calls me that).

Two Words: French Fries

Dress and Vest: Thrifted / Hat: XXI / Shoes: JC Simon

Have you ever experienced a deep love of something that you really shouldn't love too much? Yeah I've experienced that, and my love is for french fries. Now of course I don't discriminate, I love all kinds- curly, crinkle, salted, sweet potato, waffle, and the list goes on and on. So if you're ever wondering what the ticket to my heart is, now you know.

This look reminds me of biker chick meets little house of the prairie, am I right? I really love this dress, especially when the wind is blowing. It fits nicely and I barely have any maxi dresses, so it was a no-brainer when buying.

I'm also making a new video, and I can't decide what to do. I have some outfits filmed so it could be like a little lookbook type thing or just me randomly dancing in my outfits. Any ideas??

Fun Fact: While Claudia and I were taking these pictures, there was a couple in the parking lot fighting, and it resulted in the girl driving off while the boy walked home. (we should have followed him)

Remember My Name

Sweater: Friend's / Button Up: Thrifted / Jeans: Thrifted / Shoes: Irregular Choice (Heels.com)

I feel like these garage pics are slightly awkward, but blog pics are normally awkward right? My mom bought me a cool tripod, so I set up right in front of my dad's shop, not really paying attention to all the cars passing by (which is always weird).

I love these jeans. Period. They're high waisted and the perfect color. And not to mention they're Ralph Lauren and I only got them for 4 dollars. YAS. That shell choker is actually a bracelet I got from my friends/sisters a loooong time ago when they went to Hawaii. I just found it in my drawer and thought it looked nice as a choker, so bam

Thank god it is finally looking like fall, even though this week will probably go right back to being hot. I love cold weather just because I have an excuse to wear my fur and velvety pieces. This is why I should have been born somewhere cold, gosh
