Get Some

These are all pictures from my "date" with myself. Enjoy!

1&2: I've always loved looking at the sky and the clouds. For some reason it fascinates me that blobs of white can float around in the sky.

3: Me being a weirdo with my favorite food- Cheeze- Its. I've never been one for fancy and expensive food. Plain and simple is how I like it. (Basically if you get me french fries or cheeze-its, we are married.) I really enjoy listening to music as well when I'm outside. I just makes me feel connected with the earth and myself. These are actually my favorite headphones, they are Marc by Marc Jacobs. I claim to be the creepy girl on the side...

4: My outfit of the day. I wore some overalls with a cropped sweater and some coral socks. It wasn't too cold that day, but the wind was blowing, so I decided a sweater and socks were needed.

5: My mom has beautiful decoration all over our house, but this is probably my favorite. I always stand in front of it and see which parts of me are reflected in the tinier parts of the glass decor.

6: This was taken in my parents bathroom. The windows are so cool and I always sit by their tub and look out through the windows. Everything you see, whether if you're looking in or out, is distorted.

7: I was going shopping and I passed by this field area by my house. So I quickly grabbed my camera and took a pic, while trying not to swerve into oncoming traffic (don't try this at home...)

I did not feel like going to see a movie or walk around a museum, so I decided to have fun at my house. To me it's a date because I got to know myself better, and my perfect date idea (yes, I have one...) would be a simple picnic with my partner and I listening to music and staring up at the sky. I love to dance, so of course once I put my headphones on, I couldn't resist. So here's a lil' video of me frolicking about:

Mama, you're beautiful

Don't mind me dancing....

Top: Goodwill / Shorts: Choies / Jacket: XXI / Shoes: Elle / Necklace: Frock Candy

Once again, I made a video. I apologize for the crappy quality on it, because the movie maker on my computer is not so great.

I really loved how these pictures came out. Claudia and I were frolicking around my back yard and decided to take pictures. The red of the brick contrasts nicely with my bright green shorts. I got these from Choies for Christmas and they are so great. I love the fit and the color is so vibrant. I also got this shirt from Goodwill one day. It's got a 90's vibe to it, all the more reason to love it. I'm not really one for necklaces like this, but my mom got it for me for Christmas, and it grew on me. I just liked it paired with the greens and blues in my outfit.

Someone on Tumblr gave me the idea to take myself out on a date. She spent the whole day by herself doing miscellaneous things, such as going to the movies, getting ice cream, and going to a museum. I feel like everyone should do this at least once a year. Yeah it can be slightly awkward doing things by yourself, but it's also a way to connect with yourself more. People are often surrounded by others, so this would be a nice way to take a step back and reconnect with yourself. I am off school Friday, so I plan on taking myself out. I will take pictures and definitely post something about it on here. I advise you guys to do the same, and let me know how it goes!

Glory & Gore

Top: Choies / Jeans: Polo Ralph Lauren [Thrifted] / Kimono: Frock Candy / Shoes: GoJane / Glasses: Prada

I was finally able to pull myself out of bed and get dressed, I feel very accomplished. I also felt extremely put together in this outfit, and it may be one of my favorites. My mom bought me the shirt, kimono, and shoes all for Christmas. I was very undecided on the whole kimono trend, but once I saw this one I caved. It's almost like you are wearing pajamas, just out in the world instead of in bed. These shoes are freakin' amazing, but slightly hard to walk in. I'm more accustomed to huge platforms, which are easier to maneuver in, but I still love these babies.

I'm also very excited because I got my new glasses! I wear glasses for school and driving, but now that I've got my new ones, I wear them anywhere I can. These are by Prada, and I really just love how huge they are combined with the flower design on the sides.

I made a little video to go along with this post, because I wanted to start making more Youtube videos. So here ya go:

Beverly Hills

Jacket: Mom's (Ann Taylor Loft) / Furry Shirt and Slip Dress: Thrifted / Pants: XXI / Shoes: JC Simon

I love looking in my mom's closet, because she always has really good jackets. Her style is obviously more sophisticated since she works in an office, but she got some serious style, no lie. I really liked this jacket since it wasn't too padded, but kept me warm enough. It also just looks really cool, like I'm in the Matrix or something. Next is the fur. It's getting colder down here in Louisiana so it's time to layer lots. I wanted to wear a dress over some pants for a while now and since it was chilly I thought the fur was the perfect addition since this dress is basically a slip. Yay for fur/dress/pant combos

I also had a serious case of butt-chin in these pics. I got it from my dad, but mine only shows randomly. Oh, butt chins. And sorry for the brick wall/ power cord background. The sun was out and I like to take my pics in the shade so I had to go underneath our patio. Bleh.

On another note, I encourage you to listen to some old alternative rock/punk songs in your spare time. Mine has been Weezer and Sum 41. Too punk rawk 4 u.

Everything Thrifted, Dress {American Apparel}

So this would be considered my classy Sunday look. I normally don't look this girly, but I kinda dig it. When I first saw this American Apparel Dress, I thought it was part of a dance costume due to the fabric, but of course I tried it on anyway. The color is beautiful and perfect for summer. Coincidentally, Miranda, from Let's Get Flashy wore this dress in one of her recent posts. Of course it looked fab on her- go check it out!

I finally put a video together of one of Claud & I's adventures that we took a long time ago:

ALSO:
I just bid on these AH-mAZING shoes on eBay, and it was quite a scary experience waiting until the last 10 seconds. BUT I WON. And I will never take them off once I get them:

Valley of Dolls

Dress: Thrifted / Tights: Old, ripped / Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Simon

This dress is actually a deep green, but the lighting isn't correctly showing it. I got up pretty early and that's why it looks like the sun is just rising, because well, it was. I went to church by myself, which was pretty peaceful, and now I sit at work. Yum.

I have been holding in a rant for a while now, so I'm just gonna post the jist of it. I don't get annoyed with many things, I am pretty carefree and just brush it off. My overall attitude is "Whatever." Not that I don't care about things, I just don't get too wound up in stuff. But when people OBVIOUSLY stare at me in public, it kind of ticks me off. I know my fashion sense isn't everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't mean I should get judged for it. I'm just different. I think a lot of that mindset has to do with where I live as well. I just don't understand why I have to be looked at differently just because I choose to wear something out of the norm. And what makes it worse is when people are obviously staring and whispering to each other about it. GET OVER IT. Okay caps is pretty powerful.
Anyway, I think we should just all be happy, grow our hair out, and smile everyday. My perfect world is a bunch of hippies sitting around drinking orange juice.

OH, and I made another video, so I shall leave you with that my goonies.
