Roller Girl

Top: Thrifted / Shorts: Miracle Eye / Sunglasses: MakeMeChic / Beret: Oasap / Shoes: Thrifted

Tube tops, oui or non? Wearing no bra is quite liberating, and tube tops make it all the more invigorating due to the fact that the top could slip down any second. Am I becoming a nudist? (Hopefully). Not to mention that fact that it showcases a whole lotta shoulder/collarbone area, which is an instant boner for some people [ME]. I feel like this look would have been next level if I had some sick roller blades to sport. Only problem is I'd definitely bust my face because no coordination.

Rooftop Revival

Top: Purple Cow / Jeans, Cape, & Shoes: Thrifted / Glasses: Prada

Let's take a poll: Vogue Chef or Sensual Superhero?

Let's be honest, those two categories pretty much sum up this outfit. The sharp lines and cutouts on the cape/apron hybrid promote awkwardness and confusion that transforms most people's stares to "Is she wearing a cape, or an apron backwards?"

I saw it in the dress section, so I stand by the dress perspective, even though I'm wearing clothing underneath it. It does prove slightly difficult to maneuver whilst peeing, I can attest to that. But otherwise, a very rad piece.

I also really love the baggy appearance of the pants/capris. Yes, they are really ugly, but they appeal to me on some level, and that's all that matters. Since they are paired with the sassiness of the hot pink crop, balance is achieved!

Don't forget to check out my portfolio, I should be adding more pictures soon!

Get Ur Freak On

Top: Urban Outfitters / Dress: Thrifted / Shoes: Elle / Necklace&Brooch: Grandma

Lately the weather has been unsatisfactory, so I got creative and found a nice spot in my house. This is in my parents bedroom, and I've always loved the look of this lounger. I have this vision of a young girl lying across it on a summer's day drinking lemonade and reading her magazines.

Someone actually said I looked like an anime character in this outfit, and I love that (even though I don't really watch anime). I draw inspiration from polar opposite styles, but I find it works for me. Get used to this top because I love it! It's perfect as just a top or layered under/over different pieces. The sleeves give it an empress vibe don't you think?

I also started a new portfolio for my styling. I would greatly appreciate it if you would check it out! (makenziegodso.tumblr.com)

Print Party

Top: Frock Candy / Shorts: Thrift / Shoes: Sammydress / Choker: Etsy / Hat: Purple Cow

Articulation is a difficult thing to master. I wear outfits that articulate my personality, but lately that has been slipping. I've spiraled into a phase of self-doubt and uncertainty all because of the concept of college and career paths. Of course I want to do something that makes me happy, but at the same time I want a profit for it (which is totally warped and I curse capitalism for this). I feel that you can sense that through these pictures and my recent outfits. I love everything I wear, because if I didn't, I obviously wouldn't put it on. I  feel that I've been trying too hard to be something I'm not just to gain attention or fit in with 'blogger criteria'. I still have a broad field of what I want to do in college and as my career, so I'm attempting to channel my creativity through different mediums, such as YouTube and styling photo shoots.

On a lighter note, let's dissect the outfit. I've been dabbling in print mixing lately, and it is really quite fun. I'm not a huge fan of houndstooth, but I loved the blue in this sweater too much. I love combining feminine pieces with masculine ones to create uncertainty within the look. The cropped sweater combined with the baggy boy shorts is awkward but so right at the same time. This hat is perfect if you ever want to recreate a little French student look. And the shoes. Always right in any outfit.

P.S. Keep your eyes open for some new projects I'm starting!!

'shopped

Top: Purple Cow / Romper: Peter Pilotto x Target / Shoes: Thrifted / Bowtie: Purple Cow

I've decided my blog pictures have evolved into repetitive poses, positions, and backgrounds, which is totally not rad, right? In this instance, I chose to Photoshop myself into random backgrounds that I thought were quite charming. I don't believe blog pictures should be about how good you look or what your background looks like, but instead focus on the clothing and outfit that you've created. Most of my pictures are taken with a tripod in my backyard or against the wall in my garage, which I'm totally okay with for now. I want my audience to focus more on my ensemble and less on my bitch face.

This romper was a part of the Peter Pilotto collection for Target. Let me be explicitly honest and let you know that I did not know this designer before I learned of the Target collaboration. I find it extremely pretentious and silly when people buy designer items just to let everyone know they have the money to do so or that they think they are trendy. Of course I did not want to fall into this category, so I did my research before the collection was released to make sure I actually supported their designs and aesthetics. Obviously, I did. The prints were so mesmerizing and chaotic, yet organized and simple at the same time. I also bought a swim top that is slightly wet-suit inspired, which is totally acceptable in my case since I don't tan (Snow White over here..).

I also want to change the direction of this blog. I've had the mindset that this blog is strictly for fashion and nothing else. This boxed me in and limited my creativity. I've decided to update once daily during the week, but not on weekends. Each day will contain a certain topic of my choosing. Here is my outline so far:

1. Monday: Playlist for the Week
2. Tuesday: Outfit Post
3. Wednesday: YouTube video (if ready) or Blogger Spotlight
4. Thursday: Outfit Post
5. Friday: Inspiration/ Mantra for the Weekend

I've recently enjoyed filming videos and I am starting to update my YouTube more regularly. I want to incorporate worldly matters that are occurring, so there may be a post featuring that during the week as well. This isn't a strict plan that I HAVE to follow, so if I sometimes want to post something else I will. This is purely to aid me in channeling my creativity and sharing it with you lovely people.

Thank you all for staying with me for this long and I hope you continue to for as long as this blog persists!

I am not a Robot

Top: Purple Cow / Shorts: Choies / Shoes: Urban Outfitters

So, ignoring my hideously pinkish pale legs (I love them, don't hate), let's focus on this outfit!

I've worn this shirt many times and have yet to get the old man smell out of it (yes I wash my clothes...). All the more reason for it to remind me of a grandpa sleep shirt. The print makes me feel luxurious, but comfortable at the same time, ya feel?
These shorts are my new favorite simply because of the color. It's a vivid grassy green that makes me look even more pale, so I can't help but love it. And they sit perfectly on my hips (these hips don't lie).
I got these shoes in the Urban Outfitters sale section a couple weekends ago. I'm not a big loafer/flats person, but these sang my name. I really loved the color, since I don't have any shoes this color. They also make me feel a bit androgynous, but feminine at the same time (it's the bows....).

As for accessories, I have been keeping it simple. The 'choker' is actually a belt that I looped around my neck twice. And yes, it was very tight, but all in the name of fashion!

Supersymmetry

Top: Friend's / Kimono: Frock Candy / Pants: Thrifted / Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell / Glasses: Gift

There are just some days where I feel like being comfortable and messy. I love anything oversized, so I tend to buy clothes that swallow my frame. These pants are at least 4 sizes too big, and that's why I love them. The print is also beautiful, almost like a weird snakeskin. And of course I will always find a way to show my belly button because belly buttons rule.

Speaking of belly buttons, my birthday is fast approaching and I want to get my belly button pierced. But of course, I'm wimpy when it comes to needles so I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO (cue sad face). I may just man up or ask them to knock me out before....

Dance, Dance, Dance

Top: Thrifted / Jacket: Ann Taylor / Skirt: Frock Candy / Boots: XXI / Hat: Thrifted / Necklace: Gift

Before I even begin, I want to say that we should all pretend I'm not as pale as I am in these pictures, because I'm not. (Psh...)

This is my first post of 2014, and I'm really excited to continue blogging this year. I made a lot of friends last year through blogging that I am extremely grateful for. I'm also very appreciative of you guys who take the time to comment and read my blog, so thank you! I won't bore you with my resolutions, but the main theme I'm concentrating on this year is self-love and respect. I want to focus on improving my beliefs along with the view I have of myself. I also finish high school and begin college this year, so that will be a whole new experience!

These were actually taken New Years day when it was misting and miserable. I love this little corner that we have by our patio out back. It has this dilapidated feel to it because of the moldy bricks, so get used to seeing it!

I really enjoy wearing this hat with almost anything. It makes me feel extremely sassy and in charge, idk. I also adore this necklace my mom got me for Christmas. I told her I really wanted some bigger necklaces with color, and she did an amazing job picking them out. She also got me this skirt, and at first I was conflicted about the color, but once I paired it with the top I knew everything was going to be alright. (Because the world would halt if it hadn't worked out...how much of a diva could I be?)
