A slight comeback?

Top: Thrifted and DIYed / Skirt: Thrifted / Shoes: Sammydress / Glasses: Prada

I bet you're all thinking, "Holy crap, she's alive!". And yes, I'm here to confirm that. I honestly apologize with my whole heart, the only explanation I can give- life. Changing relationships, new job opportunities, school, etc. Things happen, and I'm really sorry they prevented me from being a good blogger! Anyway, I hope to start posting more regularly- the only problem now is that I don't have space around my apartment to take good quality ones, but I'm coming up with ways to be creative.

Now onto these magnificent pictures. As I've been away for so long, I've started growing more and realizing new things about myself. One of those things is that it honestly feels amazing to surround yourself with like-minded and artistic people. Camille, one of my best friends, is a testament to that. She is so passionate and to me it comes across in her photography. Here's the link to more of her work- please go check it out, she's phenomenal. We had a great time shooting, it was beautiful out and the wind was blowing perfectly. I get pretty awkward with people when they're taking my pictures, mainly because I can't see what I look like or what my face is doing- but with Camille it comes naturally. I felt so at ease and I think that comes across in the pictures.

Now onto the outfit. I've been really into buying thrifted pieces and making them new and unique for my style. This sweater for instance, I loved the color and length, but wanted it to be a lil bit more sassy (bc I am the queen of sass) so I cut some slits in the side and VOILA! now I have a cape for my front and back. And this skirt? Freaking come on. I thought it looked beautiful against the red sweater and multicolor of my shoes. It's so delicate and fairy-like, something I don't usually gravitate toward. But then again, my style has never been stable, so why not try new things?

Again, thank you to all who stayed with me through this little hiatus, I genuinely appreciate it! Ily <3

i blame myself

jeans: diyed / tube top: thrifted / bra: herroom

Looks familiar doesn't it? Lately I haven't been going out too much, which means no outfits. So I've decided to get creative and share with you things I've been making myself or diy'ing, seeing that it does tie into my fashion choices. And I've always had an admiration for photography, so it's thrilling to play with lighting and different poses.

I've recently been learning how to sew, so I decided it would be fun to sew different words into a couple pieces of clothing. Of course 'Kween' was my favorite. I also added some pompoms to the back of these jeans for some extra spunk.

The shadows are probably my favorite part of the photos. It adds another layer to the picture that enhances the overall experience of viewing it. Hope yall enjoy!

Ur not the 1

Raincoat: eBay

This was a product of boredom/inspiration. I was off work and home alone, so I began playing around with makeup. I ended up loving how it turned out, so I wanted to document it, but not in a "selfie" kind of way. Thus I broke out my new raincoat, and decided to get a little creative with the lighting and styling. The more I thought about it, I decided I felt vulnerable, but protected all at once. I was naked, but the raincoat protected me, even through its transparency. Almost like I was giving my audience glimpses of myself, but at the same time there was still a barrier. Idk, I thought they came out great and I had fun doing it alone since I had control over every aspect.

Ritual Union

Top, Jeans, Boots: Thrifted

As of late I've been inspired by menswear and really baggy clothing choices. So me being me, went to the store and got a pack of men's underwear, because I can (and they are so incredibly liberating, SO MUCH ROOM). I decided to style them with some really baggy jeans that I recently got and a plain shirt to make it more masculine. I'm also more into the raw images instead of touching them up, especially with these pictures. The light was shining through perfectly to catch the rawness of my outfit as well as my hair and makeup.

I'm very excited to announce that I will be graduating this Sunday and moving into a new apartment in June! So stick with me as I become adjusted to everything coming my way!

Love yall!

Dominant Lolita

Satanic Princess

Model: Claudia / Photographer: Camille / Styling & Makeup: Me

This past weekend, my friends and I decided to do a little shoot, which benefits all of us. Claudia for modeling, Camille for her photography, and me for my styling. To say it was fun was an understatement. We picked a bunch of stuff from my closet and put together themed outfits and met Camille at a beautiful little arboretum.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to makeup, but when I see something I love I tell Claudia and we work together to make it happen since she's a makeup goddess. So now a little breakdown of each outfit:

Urban Boy: I wanted to make this really androgynous, yet feminine and sexy at the same time. So pairing the capri pants with this cropped sweater (I've had it since I was like 6 lawllllllllz) and showing a bit of underwear seemed like the perfect idea. The little clips in her hair serve as the feminine yet really urban aspect and ties everything in. And of course intense contouring makes her bitch face stand out even more.

Dominant Lolita: I love everything about Lolita style so I wanted to somehow recreate it in my own way. I knew she would have pigtails and little pinkish circles on her cheeks to play up the innocent girl vibe. But then I saw my leather overall dress and knew we were gonna go a whole other way with the Lolita- make her a dominatrix. The pants underneath still tie into the Lolita theme due to the light pastel colors and sweet print. But then the leather on top makes her suuuuper badass.

French Bitch: I love this hat and neck scarf, so it made perfect sense to do something along the lines of French. I wanted her to have a a fresh face, so we didn't do much makeup. Putting the lingerie nighty with the boyish striped shorts made me think of the dual meaning when someone thinks "French". On one hand, you've got the sweet and sexy lingerie, but on the other you have the stripes and bagginess that I think of when I think 'French boy'. And of course, Chucks to tie it in.

Modest Fairy: I recently bought a lot of lingerie, this bra being my favorite of all. I immediately thought pairing it with this little tulle skirt would scream FAIRY. I put a little bit of green eye shadow on her lid and then pink all around with three little jewels on one eye. I liked her standing on the bridge, making it seem like she's the fairy tempting you into her realm.

Satanic Princess: MY FAVORITE. Dear God I was breathless when I saw the pictures from this outfit. I'm really inspired by Brooke Candy, on all levels, and she had some intense eye makeup like this for a show, so I thought I would replicate it. Of course Claudia looks fucking amazing in my Bad Vibes shorts and then paired with those gladiator heels she looks like a devil-worshiping princess.

I have to say none of this would have worked without the amazing skills that Claudia and Camille both have. I love them both so much and they are so freaking rad to work with!

I'm going to post the rest of the pictures on my portfolio later, so keep an eye out for that (tab at the top of the blog!)

Artist Revelation: Olivia Bee

All images from Olivia Bee's site

I apologize for my absence lately, but I've been quite ill. All I've been doing is lying in bed while watching movies or dragging myself to work. I did have a lovely holiday though with my family, and I hope you did as well!

As I said before, I would be featuring many people who inspire me on the blog, and Olivia Bee is yet another. She is an photographer from Portland, Oregon who started her work early on. At 14, she was already doing campaigns for major brands like Converse. I think I'm so drawn to her work because she is close to my age, and captures images that I can appreciate and that appeal to my beliefs at this stage in my life. I have probably stalked all her Q&A's on Youtube and I don't regret it one bit. I encourage you to browse her website and fall in love with her photography.

Hopefully I get better soon so I can actually put on real clothes and not sweatpants. Hope you all have a lovely holiday and spend it with the ones you love!

Strangeness & Charm

Top: Thrifted [Karen Kane] / Jeans: J Brand / Skirt: Tobi / Shoes: Sammydress

Have you ever created an amazing outfit and you felt superb, and then you walked outside and it ruined the happiness you felt? That's exactly what happened on this day. It was muggy and rainy, so of course my mood was a bit drab. But, I was very excited because a really really cool girl from my school, Lily, wanted to take some pictures of me. She is an extremely talented photographer, sooo chill, and she loves pizza rolls {that is a very valid characteristic}. I do have to say that I was severely awkward and reserved during this rendezvous, so for that I apologize Lily!!! Her stunning photography can be found here.

Who says I can't be undeniably awkward in the face of someone I've never met, but be my usual confident self at the same time? I'm not one to tell someone my life story the moment I meet them, or be really chatty with them. I keep a close circle of friends with whom I'm comfortable being around, so it is very hard for me to show my character to someone I've never met. I normally come across as snooty or rude (chronic bitch face), but it simply comes down me not being comfortable with other people. That makes me sound like an extreme hermit, but it's the truth. Now, I can be undeniably awkward, but exude confidence at the same time. I love myself enough to embrace my personality and not shy away from it. So yes, it is possible to be socially awkward but a total diva at the same time. (case closed)

I bought this skirt from Tobi knowing I was going to use it as a layering piece. It is noticeably short, so I don't believe I will be wearing it alone. I love the tulle, as it makes me feel like a puffy princess [all girls want to feel like this, don't kid yourself]. Wearing it over jeans was wonderfully comfortable and added a bit of diva to the outfit (a diva is the female version of a hustler...justsayin).

P.S. IT'S ALMOST FREAKIN CHRISTMAS (2 more exams bby)
