Playlist of the Week

I seriously apologize for my abandonment of this blog. I felt it necessary though at the time, due to the accumulating stress bombarding me from school, work, and people in general. It's my senior year and things are coming to an end in the next two weeks. Trust me when I say teachers like to pile things up.

I also found myself dressing with the mindset of  'Oh, this will look good in pictures for the blog'. I was loosing sight of what this blog is really about- personal expression. I think some bloggers believe they need to constantly post and be on top of trends that really aren't that great. (#srynotsry) My goal has always been to be myself and share parts of my brain/beliefs with others, which is what I was doing the opposite of.

And these are just some songs that give me the feels lately, ya kno?

Playlist of the Week: 2

For this week's playlist, I chose from a wide range of genres. Going from Iggy Azalea to Nina Simone is quite the change, but it's nice to have an open ear to all genres of music. One moment I'm club dancing to Iggy and the next I'm interpretive dancing to Blue Hawaii. That's the best thing about music.

Playlist of the Week: 1

This is my first Playlist of the Week, so I decided to include some songs that I can't help but dance to. I've already stated that I listen to a wide variety of music, and this definitely shows it. All of these songs contain a rhythm that makes you want to shake it and make a fool of yourself in your car (which I do quite frequently). Let me know if you like any of these songs, or any of the artists featured!

Artist: AlunaGeorge

My current musical obsession is AlunaGeorge, an English electronic music duo from London. I am in a techo phase right now, and this group is why. Aluna's vocals are very sweet and childlike but fuse perfectly with George's eclectic beats. They seem so friendly and inviting, and are quite hilarious. Some of my favorite songs are Diver, Attracting Flies, and Bad Idea. This is one of my favorite interview of them as well:

Let me know what your favorite songs are and any other bands or artists that have similar vibes as them!

These are some songs I've been listening to nonstop lately. The image is a work of Olivia Bee, who I will feature in a post soon!

What are some songs you can't stop listening to?

Jacket: Mom's (Ann Taylor Loft) / Furry Shirt and Slip Dress: Thrifted / Pants: XXI / Shoes: JC Simon

I love looking in my mom's closet, because she always has really good jackets. Her style is obviously more sophisticated since she works in an office, but she got some serious style, no lie. I really liked this jacket since it wasn't too padded, but kept me warm enough. It also just looks really cool, like I'm in the Matrix or something. Next is the fur. It's getting colder down here in Louisiana so it's time to layer lots. I wanted to wear a dress over some pants for a while now and since it was chilly I thought the fur was the perfect addition since this dress is basically a slip. Yay for fur/dress/pant combos

I also had a serious case of butt-chin in these pics. I got it from my dad, but mine only shows randomly. Oh, butt chins. And sorry for the brick wall/ power cord background. The sun was out and I like to take my pics in the shade so I had to go underneath our patio. Bleh.

On another note, I encourage you to listen to some old alternative rock/punk songs in your spare time. Mine has been Weezer and Sum 41. Too punk rawk 4 u.

Remember My Name

Sweater: Friend's / Button Up: Thrifted / Jeans: Thrifted / Shoes: Irregular Choice (Heels.com)

I feel like these garage pics are slightly awkward, but blog pics are normally awkward right? My mom bought me a cool tripod, so I set up right in front of my dad's shop, not really paying attention to all the cars passing by (which is always weird).

I love these jeans. Period. They're high waisted and the perfect color. And not to mention they're Ralph Lauren and I only got them for 4 dollars. YAS. That shell choker is actually a bracelet I got from my friends/sisters a loooong time ago when they went to Hawaii. I just found it in my drawer and thought it looked nice as a choker, so bam

Thank god it is finally looking like fall, even though this week will probably go right back to being hot. I love cold weather just because I have an excuse to wear my fur and velvety pieces. This is why I should have been born somewhere cold, gosh

Versatile Blogger Award

I was nominated for a Versatile Blogger Award by Junk Journal who I would like to thank so much! Their blog is here: http://www.junkjournal100.blogspot.co.uk/ They have such a cool blog, definitely take the time to check em out!

There are 3 rules:
1. Thank the person that nominated you, and give them a shout out on your blog with a link to theirs.
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
3. Send on the award to 15 other bloggers whose blog you love and appreciate and then let them know they won the award.

Okay so onto 7 facts about me:
1. I'm a huge introvert. I would rather stay at home by myself and listen to music most of the time tbh.

2. I'm like a half-vegan hybrid I guess? I don't like to eat meat only because of the texture and taste, but I will eat it if it's the only thing to eat.

3. If I had the choice, I would like to travel around the world and just meet new people. Oh and also live in a little village and be bffs with all the kiddies.

4. I come off as rude or detached mainly because I don't really care what other people think about me, especially at a school full of girls.

5. I've already planned my future family which consists of: 1) a rly cool hubbie with lots of tats and piercings and who is equally as weird as I am 2) a little boy named Malachi 3) a pet pig named Temperley and 4) a pug named Medusa.

6. I'm sort of a feminist I guess you could say. Women are as equal as men and if you think we are inferior because of a few body parts, you're delusional.

7. This shall be the cliche fact(s) about me. I loooove American Horror Story, classical music, french fries, tater tots, sweet tea, Alexander McQueen, and my bffl/soul mate Claudia (hey boo).

Okay so now that you basically know my life, these are my nominees for the award:

Onyx- Eye
Celestial Calling
British Mermaid
I Fly A Starship
Velvet Codeine
Electric Sunrise
Waiste
Salted Roses
Melodic, Thrifty, & Chic
Ordaining Serendipity
Satire Attire
PeekaBoo Vintage

I chose the bloggers that I admire the most, and the ones who inspire me constantly. I've already formed bonds with some of these gorgeous girls, and I hope that I can eventually become good friends with all of them. To me this award is about forming friendships with bloggers who all have the same interest: fashion. Instead of us all competing against each other, it should be more of a family type relationship.

Thanks for reading, and definitely go follow all of these lovely blogs!

Dress: Oasap / Shirt: Thrifted / Choker: Etsy / Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Simon

This was the outfit I was supposed to wear to a school event, but of course my dress was too short. Even though many girls there had dresses shorter than mine, I changed. It was also unbearably hot so I would have fried in that carpet shirt.

I got this dress from Oasap specifically for the event. I love the collar and the print on it with Medusa's head (I'm assuming that's her??). And the carpet shirt on top just added to the sassy awesomeness going on.

I also wore my Eye of Horus choker that I got from Etsy. Definitely go check out her shop, she's such a doll and a very friendly seller!

On another note, I just discovered Radical Something. They are a band from California and their music is extremely laid back but fun. No lie all of them are also v beautiful <3

Garbage Bag Chic

Top: Purple Cow / Skirt: XXI / Shoes: eBay / Headhband: Etsy

Is it safe to say I have senioritis already? Because it's happenin.

As of late, I've been stressed over school and work, thus my blogging began to slip. Just for the record, I wear a very stimulating private school girl uniform, and there is no time for outfit pics during the week. So basically, for the school year, my outfits are on weekends or holidays.

I love this skirt that I got from Forever 21 a while ago. It reminds me of a garbage bag and I dig that. The shirt is also v cool, but huge. I could probably get away with wearing it as a dress, except you'd see booty, and that's not acceptable. *whtevr*

Also, if there is anyone who knows ANYTHING about DJ-ing, I would love to hear from you. I want to begin, but have no idea where to start. Please let me know if you DJ yourself or know a few things, it would really help!

Here is a sick pic of my idols, Grimes and Brooke Candy. Not only is their music totally mind-blowing, they got sum serious style. Check em outttttt

I definitely recommend listening to her music. These are my favorites right now:
1. Omega
2. Be A Body
3. Genesis
