New Beginnings

Top: Oasap / Shorts: Miracle Eye / Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

New hair, new beginnings right? A handful of things are changing in my life right now, and I am extremely excited for all of it, so I thought a new do would add into my excitement levels.

I've been aching to change my hair in some way for a while now, contemplating different styles and colors, but I went with chopping in some bangs that are very reminiscent of Mia Wallace. So far I have no complaints, I did them myself and I love the way they came out.

I'm also living in these suuuuper comfy Miracle Eye shorts that I just bought, perfect for summertime. I thought it looked nice with this dupe of the Wildfox seashell boob sweater. Claudia and I went on a picnic this day, hence the change in scenery as well as random stone deer

Magikul

Swim Top: Motel / Swim Bottoms: ModCloth

I really shouldn't be allowed access to a hose and camera at the same time...I had way too much fun frolicking in my backyard on this particular afternoon spraying the hose up at the sky and squealing like a little kid when the icy water came sprinkling back down onto my head.

I've wanted a high-waist bikini since two summers ago, but of course I had to get the right one. I didn't want to have the same basic one that everyone else got, and once I found this one I was in love. First off, it has unicorns on it. Secondly, it hits me right below my belly button, which I think is suuuper flattering for my body (not that you have to wear things that flatter your body, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT AND ROCK IT). Lastly, it's got unicorns on it. I didn't want to get the matching top, because that would be just a lil too much unicorn ya feel, so instead I matched it with this joker-esque bikini top I got last summer from Asos. Ta-da, magikul

After my inner child settled down from the freezing water droplets dispersed on my head and body, I decided to enjoy the nice afternoon and laid out on a towel while reading a book. Whilst reading, I looked at my hand and noticed a dry patch of skin. I was fascinated looking at new skin growing over the old skin, forming many layers, and also with the pattern my skin makes. So I took a picture. This of course led me into a philosophical/existential thought path and I began thinking of everything. From my skin, to the bugs crawling underneath me, or the sound of the wind, and even the feel of grass underneath my foot. It made me appreciate myself, the earth, and anything living. I won't go into all the revelations I made, but next time you see a scab or dry patch, don't be disgusted by it, inspect it and marvel at the thought of how wonderful things are and how amazing your body is, all flaws and scabs included.

Get Some

These are all pictures from my "date" with myself. Enjoy!

1&2: I've always loved looking at the sky and the clouds. For some reason it fascinates me that blobs of white can float around in the sky.

3: Me being a weirdo with my favorite food- Cheeze- Its. I've never been one for fancy and expensive food. Plain and simple is how I like it. (Basically if you get me french fries or cheeze-its, we are married.) I really enjoy listening to music as well when I'm outside. I just makes me feel connected with the earth and myself. These are actually my favorite headphones, they are Marc by Marc Jacobs. I claim to be the creepy girl on the side...

4: My outfit of the day. I wore some overalls with a cropped sweater and some coral socks. It wasn't too cold that day, but the wind was blowing, so I decided a sweater and socks were needed.

5: My mom has beautiful decoration all over our house, but this is probably my favorite. I always stand in front of it and see which parts of me are reflected in the tinier parts of the glass decor.

6: This was taken in my parents bathroom. The windows are so cool and I always sit by their tub and look out through the windows. Everything you see, whether if you're looking in or out, is distorted.

7: I was going shopping and I passed by this field area by my house. So I quickly grabbed my camera and took a pic, while trying not to swerve into oncoming traffic (don't try this at home...)

I did not feel like going to see a movie or walk around a museum, so I decided to have fun at my house. To me it's a date because I got to know myself better, and my perfect date idea (yes, I have one...) would be a simple picnic with my partner and I listening to music and staring up at the sky. I love to dance, so of course once I put my headphones on, I couldn't resist. So here's a lil' video of me frolicking about:

Mad Plaid

Top: Thrifted / Pants: Polo Ralph Lauren (Goodwill) / Shoes: eBay / Purse: gift

THE PANTS. They're literally perfection. They're a size too big, but I honestly had to have them. Ugh, dead. The shoes are quite old, but this is the first time I've worn them. I got them for my birthday, but couldn't find much to wear with them, so they were pushed to the back of my closet. While I was getting dressed I saw them and the outfit just fell into place. It's truly a magical moment when that happens.

I've tried everything I can think of and all the tips from people who know a ton more about technology, but the blurry pics keep happening!! If anyone knows why it's happening, I would greatly appreciate it- but until then if you click on the picture it shows how clear it is. Thanks for your patience!

Monday Schmonday blehhhhh

Kenzie:
Everything thrifted / Shoes: Irregular Choice

Claud:
Everything thrifted / Shoes: Urban Outfitters

Family get-togethers are often full of screaming mixed with alcohol consumption and a tad bit of drunken hilariousness. I shared this time with Claudia, and let's just say we won't forget it.

Our extra large Monsters in hand, we drank our night away while gluing our eyes to my computer screen to watch American Horror Story (my new addiction) and read our filthy Cosmo mag. There's no one else I'd rather spend that tradition with. I feel like I sound like a sappy girlfriend, but I found this quote on Tumblr, and it quite literally describes Claud and I's relationship:

"Soul mates? I think they exist. Just not always romantically. I think there are certain people you will meet in your life who you just connect with more than anyone else and you just know it isn't a typical thing and you understand each other perfectly. And this person won't always be your "significant other". I mean it could be your friend or sibling or parent or teacher or the person you're dating or whoever. It could be just about anyone you've ever interacted with."

Idk, it just clicked once I read it. She's my soul-mate. It scares me sometimes how much we understand each other. And of course we fight, but those so called fights last approximately 5 minutes, followed by us laughing over how stupid it was and something along the lines of, "Well we're with each other for life, so get over it". Just some deep-thinking for a Monday afternoon.

Who's your soul-mate?
